Launched in August 2018, Silver Fox, the Baglietto 48M T-Line model, premiered worldwide the following month at the Cannes Yachting Festival. On the first day of the show, the Italian shipyard announced that she’d sold. Her sea-loving owner just saw the yacht in build, and her development through renderings. But, when he saw the finished yacht in Cannes, he felt in love immediately and bought her with no modifications. A determining factor: He wanted a yacht to spend Christmastime in the Caribbean. In addition, he found that this 156-footer (47.6-meter) was perfect to realize his dream.
They say love is blind, but in this case everything is clear. First, Silver Fox’s profile boasts sporty yet sleek lines. The double color—white superstructure and grey hull—emphasizes them, too. The reverse-angle wheelhouse windows do as well, providing majestic views from the helm station. Remarkable also is the profuse use of glass, lending harmony to her silhouette, besides the basic function of flooding the interior with natural light.
The performance Baglietto promised further allows the owner to go anywhere he likes. A pair of 2,250-hp Caterpillar 3512C diesel engines permits a top speed of 16 knots and a cruising speed of 12 knots. This yacht was born to be a globetrotter: Silver Fox boasts a maximum range of 4,500 nautical miles, thanks to a total fuel capacity of nearly 21,134 gallons (80,000 liters).
Besides her performance, what makes Silver Fox perfect to explore any angle of the world is her luxury space inside and outside. A side-loading tender garage frees the transom for a proper beach club (above), with a bar, gym, and steam shower. Loose furniture by Paola Lenti and B&B Italia lend elegance to this pied dans l’eau (terrace on the water). Meanwhile, the 1,506-square-foot (140-square-meter) sundeck is the perfect place to enjoy the cruise or host a party. Guests can choose among the infinity pool aft, a wide sunbathing area forward, and a lunch area. Meal service comes thanks to a coffee bar, barbecue, grill and a refrigerator, plus direct connection to the galley via a dumbwaiter.
The sophisticated and warm atmosphere inside suited how the owner likes to live. Baglietto Interior Design and Boutsen Design outfitted 3,767 square feet (350 square meters) of luxury areas. Italian national walnut matches perfectly with touches of gold and bronze, lightened by Canaletto walnut for the floors. Natural fabrics contribute to a reserved but elegant mood as well. While the owner liked how a bar welcomes guests onboard into the saloon (above), he did request a custom touch. A TV stand in stainless steel and fabrics separates the conversation area from the dining area.
The full-beam owner’s suite (Silver Fox has a beam of 32 feet, or 9.5 meters) is really a nest and an invitation to privacy. Near the window, two elegant armchairs and a coffee table create a cozy place for relaxation. To enhance the geometric design, Baglietto’s team used carpeting and leathers with irregular cuts. The same architectural style appears in the four guest staterooms below decks: two VIPs and two twins, with Pullman beds.
Due to her transatlantic range, Silver Fox further reflects great attention to stowage and crew needs. For instance, she has a dedicated luggage room. Two washing machines and two dryers sit in the well-equipped laundry. Plus, the chef and his team have direct access from the galley to a cold room and a freezer room. They boast volumes of 93.6 cubic feet (2.65 cubic meters) and 88.3 cubic feet (2.5 cubic meters), respectively. It’s bigger-yacht thinking in a more moderately sized project. No wonder Silver Fox ticked all the boxes for this owner.
