Combining the pedigree of Oyster and Bill Barry-Cotter’s expertise has created a truly graceful and competitive gentleman’s racing yacht, Maritimo 100, set to compete in this year’s Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race.
The 30.4-metre Oyster supermaxi is now in the final stages of preparation, following the delivery from Newport, Rhode Island.
Launched in 2012, this elegant sailboat was the second Oyster 100 built by the prestigious Southampton based Oyster Yachts and was designed by the internationally recognised Ed Dubois of Dubois Naval Architects.
Purchased in early 2024 from Rhode Island, the 114-tonne majestic sloop features a beam of 7.7 metres with a sleek aluminium hull and is powered by 493 square metres of sail area, sports rig, carbon spars and Spectra Carbon sails. Like all Oysters, efficiency of operation and optimum comfort are paramount.
The palatial interior delivers a sense of enormous space with an abundance of light and fabulous views from the extensive panoramic glass areas.
