1 Dive Beach Experience: 2,900 THB Mid November to April Only (weather permitting)
For those that would like a simple and quick scuba diving experience. One dive at the Kata Beach Reef. Kata Beach makes for a simple and slow entry into the water. The shallow reef provides a nice range of marine reef life including common species of lion fish, snapper, goat fish, scorpion fish, barracuda, anemone fish and even bat fish from time to time. There is even a chance of seeing rays, octopus, cuttlefish, seahorse and a small chance of seeing a turtle swim by.
2 Dive Boat Experience: 4,300 THB Racha Yai Island is 1.5 hours boat ride south of Chalong Bay which is situated at the far south of Phuket Island. It is a part of two Racha Islands. Racha means “King” in Thai. Yai is Thai for “big” so Racha Yai effectively means big king island.
This island is a great place to start your scuba diving life. It has relatively calm and clear waters and enough marine life to keep a novice diver happy. It is home to most of the common reef fish and throws up some surprises from time to time with both the majestic manta rays and whale sharks sometimes making an appearance.
3 Dive Boat Experience: 5,300 THB
Racha Noi (little king) Island is two hours boat ride from Chalong Bay. With this trip you will most likely do two dives at Racha not and one dive at Racha Yai. With Racha Noi there is a great chance of seeing the rare manta rays. This is a longer day trip than the two dive Racha Yai trip.

Injuries to scuba divers from marine creatures are very rare. There is a lot of talk about sharks however attacks to scuba divers is extremely rare. There are a lot of different creatures in the sea that can bite or sting however 99.9% of the creatures are placid and timid and will not bother you.
