We believe it is important to know who you are diving with. Thats why you can read about us and our team here.
On this page we want to give you an overview of our story. Where does Sea Bees come from and what do we stand for today.
Sea Bees Diving was founded 1989 and, since 1995, has been under the stewardship of Holger Schwab.
Initially, the company focused on local business, but quickly developed exposure to overseas markets. In affiliation with international agents, we grew consistently and expanded our range of diving service products.
In 1997, we built our first boat, the 23 metre dive safari vessel “MV Marco Polo” which takes a maximum of 14 customers on 6-day safaris to the Similan Islands every week.
Two years later, the Palm Garden Resort was established – our very own dive resort accommodating 48 guests and located only 500m away from our dive centre in Ao Chalong, Phuket.
In 2001, Sea Bees Diving opened a second dive centre in Khao Lak following demand for other holiday locations in Thailand.
During that same period, we commissioned the “MC Stingray”, a 24m high-speed catamaran from a renowned shipyard in Bangkok which began operating for the Khao Lak dive centre in October 2002. The “MC Stingray” takes Sea Bees Diving customers quickly and safely to the Similan Islands in a well appointed, comfortable environment.
In 2002, Sea Bees Diving built “Excalibur II” for daily dive trips from Phuket. “Excalibur II” and “MC Stingray” are without doubt two of the best dive boats in Thailand today.
daytrip package with 10 dives
In June 2004, we purchased the “MY Genesis 1”, a luxurious dive safari boat accommodating guests on 3-day/2-night trips from Thap Lamu to the Similan Islands.
In October 2005, we opened another resort and training center in Khao Lak. As with the Palm Garden Resort in Phuket, Palm Garden Resort Khao Lak caters to the needs of divers with a special 3m deep dive pool, a training centre and full equipment facilities. In August 2006, we launched “MV Aragon”, the sister ship of “MV Excalibur II”. She is considered “state of the art” with respect to comfort, safety, luxury and service for dive daytrips in Phuket.
In October 2009, Sea Bees Diving opened its third dive centre at the prestigious Anantara Si Kao Resort & Spa in Pak Meng, Trang Province, thus extending our presence in an unspoilt part of Thailand and providing easy access to some of the more southern dive sites. In May 2011, Sea Bees Diving was awarded SSI’s newest rating of Diamond Instructor Training Facility and is the first dive centre in Thailand to receive this.
Compliance with SSI and ISO Standards are reviewed frequently by SSI in order to maintain this rating.
As of June 2011, Sea Bees Diving joined forces with the popular Holiday Inn Resort Phi Phi Island and is now operating its fourth dive centre, providing easy access to the renowned dive sites within this National Park area.
In September 2013, Sea Bees Diving won the prestigious Thailand Tourism Award for “Outstanding Performance” the category “daytrips”.
Beginning of the year 2014, Sea Bees Diving opened their fifth dive center and joined a partnership with the renovated Indigo Pearl at the Nai Yang Beach.
In September 2015 the company was honoured again for their “Outstanding Performance” with Thailand Tourism Award in the category “daytrips and tours”.
Mid of 2017 Sea Bees bought the catamaran “MC Sundancer” for their daily dive trips to the Similan Islands.
2018 – and onwards.
